Airport cops locate missing Dad before Christmas

Aviation police personnel were able to provide a heartwarming and significant Christmas gift to a woman named ‘Arni’ who had been desperately seeking assistance in locating her missing father, a 63-year-old man.

The father had been unaccounted for since his last sighting at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 three months earlier.

This act by members of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-Avsegroup) not only highlights their dedication to community service but also offers a sense of hope during a challenging time for the family affected by the father’s disappearance.

In a message posted on Facebook, Ms. Arni stated, “I am once again asking for this post to be shared, hoping someone can help us find Papa Rolando, who is 63 years old and hasn’t been home to us for a long time. It’s possible he boarded the wrong vehicle or got off at the wrong place on his way back to Cavite, where he lives.”

On December 22, Police Major Sunny Longboy, chief of the Mobile Patrol Security Unit (MPSU), promptly formed a special team to locate the missing father.

The search operation yielded a successful outcome when the team found the elderly man along Imelda Avenue in Pasay City, near the Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions, Inc. (PAGSS) center.

The father was safely brought to the MPSU and reunited with his daughter.

“This Christmas, we are reminded that our duty is not only to enforce the law but also to care for people. Helping a family find each other again is one of the reasons we serve,” said PNP-Avsegroup Director Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome Jr.

Ms. Arni expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the swift response and care extended by the police.
