QUEZON City has been named Most Child-Friendly City in the 2025 Presidential Awards for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities, marking a historic milestone for the city.
This is Quezon City’s first Presidential Award under the highly urbanized city category, highlighting the local government’s sustained commitment to child-centered governance.
Mayor Joy Belmonte thanked the Council for the Welfare of Children and national agencies for recognizing the city’s initiatives to build a child-centered community.
The awards recognize local government units that demonstrate exemplary performance in advancing children’s rights to survival, development, protection, and participation.
Quezon City emerged as the National Capital Region winner and was chosen over fellow finalists Butuan City, Angeles City, and Iloilo City following a national audit and validation process.
