TROOPS of the Army’s 42nd Infantry (Tagapagtanggol) Battalion, 9th Infantry (Spear) Division, successfully have retrieved a large cache of firearms and ammunition during a joint operation in Barangay Exciban, Labo, Camarines Norte on Tuesday.
The retrieval was conducted with the support of the 16th Infantry “Maglilingkod” Battalion and the Philippine National Police, including the Camarines Norte 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and the 91st Special Action Company.
During the operation, the soldiers discovered the concealed arms cache consisting of 26 M14 rifles, 2,245 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 15 M14 magazines, and 41 M16 magazines.
“This successful recovery of the arms cache containing high powered firearms is the result of effective intelligence driven and joint operations among our Army units and partner law enforcement agencies,” said Maj. Gen. Aldwine Almase, commander of the 9th ID.
