The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported Tuesday that the magnitude-6.9 earthquake in northern Cebu last week resulted in a coastal uplift in Brgy. Nailon, Bogo City due to the movement of the recently discovered Bogo Bay Fault.

“The uplift is approximately one (1) meter based on the exposed tidal flats, raised tidal notches, and higher high-tide markers,” Phivolcs said.
