THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded two minor eruptions by Taal Volcano in Batangas early yesterday morning.
“At around 12:57 a.m. to 1:02 a.m., that is the first duration of the Taal Volcano eruption. It was a phreatic eruption, steam-driven, meaning the water came into contact with hot rock and generated an explosion,” Paolo Reniva of the Taal Volcano Observatory said.

Another phreatomagmatic eruption from Taal Volcano Island’s main crater was logged at 2:02 a.m.
The eruption produced a 2500-meter-high eruption plume that drifted northwest.
