Rains from easterlies cause flooding in Metro Manila cities

Heavy rains attributed to easterlies poured across Metro Manila on Monday noon resulting in serious flooding that rendered some roads impassable particularly in Quezon City.

As of this posting, vehicles cannot pass through Barangay Project 6 and Sitio San Isidro in Quezon City due to rising flood waters.

The following areas, however, have manageable floods: Tandang Sora, A. Rodriguez Avenue cor. D. Muñoz, Banlat Road (in front of Villa Rebecca Homes III), Venus St. in San Roque, Santo Domingo, NS Amoranto cor. Banawe St. in Immaculate Concepcion, Aurora cor. Betty Go in Santol, G. Araneta cor. Baloy in Mariblo.

Malabon City also has flooded streets along Gov. Pascual Avenue and M.H. Del Pilar but vehicles can still pass through these areas.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported this morning that no low pressure area or tropical cyclone formation has been monitored.

PAGASA said weather in Metro Manila and the rest of the country would be affected by easterlies characterized by partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. It warned of possible flash floods.
