Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula has appointed Filipino Divine Word missionary priest Fr. Felmar Castrodes Fiel as general manager of Radio Veritas Asia (RVA).
Fiel’s appointment was formalized on Aug. 5 in a letter signed by Cardinal Advincula, chairman of the Philippine Radio Educational and Information Center Inc. (PREIC), which manages RVA.
The letter was also signed by Bishop Marcelino Antonio Maralit of San Pablo, who chairs the Office of Social Communication of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC).
Fiel, 44, will succeed Claretian priest Fr. Victor Sadaya, who has served as general manager since 2016. He is set to formally assume the post on Sept. 1.
Founded in 1969, RVA is the Catholic Church’s continental radio and digital media service for Asia. From its base in Quezon City, it continues its mission of evangelization, interreligious dialogue, and the promotion of justice, peace, and human development through digital platforms.
