A family of five beams upon arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 from war-torn Sudan via a Riyadh-Manila flight. They are among a group of 74 repatriates consisting of 45 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), 22 young children and seven students who were assisted by the Philippine government in fleeing Sudan. The returning OFWs received P50,000 from the Department of Migrant Workers, plus another P50,000 to be withdrawn at the regional offices of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
