RF Pinoy Games’ Super B Makes History Fun and Inclusive

For many, a game is simply a source of fun — a quick escape from stress and a thrill when victory is won. It brings excitement, entertainment, and the satisfaction of beating a tough opponent. But for Franchesca Del Mundo and Rylle Jewel Villamater, a game can be much more. Super B — created under RF Pinoy Games, which they founded in 2024 with the help of programmers Jasmine Alboleras and Arianne Ignacio — carries the proud spirit and creativity of what it truly means to be Filipino.

Back in 2024, Franchesca and Rylle were Fine Arts students working on their thesis. While their classmates focused on physical products, the two decided to take a different path. Instead of following the usual route, they poured their vision into Super B, a nostalgic single-player mobile game that blends history, culture, and accessibility into one unique creation.

Super B is designed for young Filipino learners, particularly elementary school children aged six and above. It explores significant periods of Philippine history, including the Spanish, American, and Japanese colonization, through engaging gameplay. Animated puzzles highlight historical events, important locations, and national heroes, encouraging players to piece together the nation’s story. It is also inclusive for the deaf and speech-impaired community, featuring a character who uses sign language to interpret everything in the game — making it a tool not just for entertainment, but also for learning and inclusivity.

The game begins with the story of Bing-Bing, the main character. Before each level, players are guided by a lesson with a Filipino Sign Language interpreter to ensure accessibility for all. Super B offers five meaningful levels: a puzzle on the Spanish Era, card-matching with Filipino heroes, a spot-the-difference challenge during the American Era, an object-hunting quest through the Japanese Era, and a money game highlighting Philippine currency.

In a digital landscape filled with games purely for leisure, Super B stands out as a meaningful creation that educates, inspires, and unites. Developed under RF Pinoy Games, it weaves together history, culture, and inclusivity. The game proves that mobile entertainment can be a platform for learning, empathy, and national pride. With Super B, young Filipinos are reminded that heroism comes in many forms, even through the screen of a mobile device.
