First-time guests at Lyf Malate cannot help but smile upon check-in. The hotel does not have a front desk; instead, it has a “Say Hi” counter manned by a friendly team.
Located in Manila’s vibrant district, Lyf Malate is not your typical accommodation for travelers. And while it certainly offers comfortable rooms at Lyf, guests can directly bask in the city’s interesting vibe.
An acronym for ‘live your freedom’ the brand builds on a new hospitality concept that goes beyond reaching one’s destination. Whether it’s an overnight, weekend getaway, or a month long stay, Lyf means living unique moments and discovering new experiences.

Specially designed for today’s travelers like digital nomads, technopreneurs, creatives, and self-starters, living one’s freedom means building connections. It can range from sharing insights with other guests at Lyf’s Connect, Huddle, and Collab spaces, or meeting new friends while preparing meals at the Bond, the hotel’s social kitchen.
For long-staying guests, laundry chores can be de done at Wash and Hung, Lyf’s Social Laundrette. The ironing boards attached to the murals are highly functional, and some mistake them for installation pieces. While waiting for your laundry, you can quietly sip your coffee while lounging at Splash, a tiled sunken pit with a lounge chair. According to Isabelle Magtoto, Lyf Malate’s Ambassador of Buzz, the structure is a running joke for guests looking for a swimming pool, “ we don’t have a swimming pool but we have dry pool” she said.

Those who need privacy for zoom meetings, or full on concentration can check out the Nook, box type pods the allow remote employees to focus on their tasks. The ladder on the side leads to a roof top meeting area, but only for those who are fit and agile to climb the narrow steps. This area can also be rented by non-hotel guests.
Guests who wish to have their room cleaned for the day can hang the TIA sign on their door. TIA stands for “Thanks in Advance” followed by the message “Please Clean the Room”. And if they wish to keep fit while on vacation, they can proceed to Burn, the hotel’s gym.
As for accommodations guests can choose from One of a kind (Studio unit with double bed) Side by Side (studio twin), All Together (2 Bedrooms) and All Together (4 Bedrooms).

Food and coffee vendo machines are available at the lobby. The place has a huge fully-equipped kitchen where guests can prepare and store their food. Malate is also a food lover’s paradise, with a host of dining options. If you have time, check out the classic favorites like The Aristocrat in Roxas Blvd. Café Adriatico and Bistro Remedios at Remedios Circle, Ristorante del Mitre and Barbara’s Heritage cuisine in Intramuros and many others. On their leisure time, guests can also check out the historical and cultural sites like the Plaza Rajah Sulayman, Remedios Circle and Malate Church. Check out Lyf Hacks on their official website for details.
Lyf Malate also hosts several fun events like pottery workshop, Earth Hour upcycle party, singles night last Feb. 15 and many more. The in-house Ambassador of Buzz promises to fill the year with exciting events.
The unique Lyf concept started in Singapore in 2019. It was initially a co-living concept, which naturally evolved into experience-based social living. Recently, Lyf brand has further expanded to city hotels and resorts. It is now present in 21 cities around the world. Managed by Ascott Limited, aside from Malate, Lyf also has a property in Cebu.
