Philippine Airlines (PAL) launched its Manila–Palau (MNL–ROR) service on Sunday to strengthen air links between the Philippines and the Pacific Islands.
The maiden flight departed Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10:15 p.m. and reached Koror at 2 a.m. local time the next day. The return flight left Koror at 3:10 a.m. local time on Monday and landed in Manila at 4:55 a.m.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) supported the new route, noting that direct connectivity will enhance tourism, business flows and cultural ties between the two nations.
PAL will operate the route twice weekly. Flights leave Manila on Wednesday and Sunday, while return flights from Koror are scheduled for Monday and Thursday.
The airline is utilizing its 199-seater dual-class Airbus A321ceo for the service. PAL said the route is part of a broader strategy to expand its regional footprint.
The Department of Tourism said improved air connectivity is expected to “boost tourism exchanges, facilitate business-to-business flows, and deepen cultural ties between the Philippines and Palau.”
