Converge ICT adding 1m ports in 2026

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. said Friday it aims to roll out nearly 1 million additional ports this year to expand world-class internet connectivity across the Philippines, with a specific focus on the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

To support the expansion, Converge allocated up to P23 billion in capital expenditures, which represents a 30-percent increase over the P17.7 billion it spent last year. The majority of the budget is earmarked for strengthening and expanding the existing network.

The company said it is prioritizing network hardening by establishing redundancy routes and rehabilitating infrastructure to meet accelerating wholesale demand.

Converge chief executive and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy said the investment is critical for visibility in new regions and for supporting the company’s enterprise business.

“We are investing heavily in our network expansion as we push harder for visibility in Visayas and Mindanao. At the same time, we are ramping up our Enterprise business amid increasing demand for quality connectivity and innovative solutions from enterprises of all sizes,” Uy said.

The expansion will focus on Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao, where more than 100,000 ports are being prepared for service this year. These new ports will serve areas including Capiz, Samar, Bukidnon, Davao de Oro and Sultan Kudarat.

Converge reported nearly 3 million residential subscribers in 2025, with port utilization reaching 37 percent. By the end of 2025, the company had registered 9.2 million ports nationwide, covering 66 percent of homes passed across the country.

“We expect to further increase our port utilization even as we accelerate our port rollout given the continued strong demand for our flagship FiberX plans, steady rise in our low-cost postpaid BIDA, and the vigorous take-up of our prepaid internet Surf2Sawa or S2S,” Uy said.

The company was recognized by Ookla as the Best Fixed Network and Fastest Fixed Network in the Philippines for the third and fourth quarters of 2025. In December 2025, the Department of Information and Communications Technology also named Converge the national broadband leader for its superior download and upload speeds and latency.

The fiber provider finished 2025 with 10.2-percent revenue growth to P44.8 billion and a net income increase of 9.6 percent to P11.9 billion.
