The 2026 DTI-Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair concluded its 5-day run at SM Megamall with P129.68 million in total sales, signaling robust demand for local products at the start of the year.
The event, which ran from Feb. 18 to 22, generated revenue through direct cash purchases, booked orders, and business negotiations finalized during the fair. Organizers reported that 335 micro, small, and medium enterprises from across the Philippines participated in the exhibition, attracting 15,103 visitors to the Megatrade Halls.
As the first flagship trade event of 2026, the fair allowed local producers to reach a broader base of consumers and institutional buyers. This exposure helps small businesses expand their reach beyond regional markets.
Department of Trade and Industry officials said the diverse lineup of home decor, food products and eco-friendly innovations resonated with a growing consumer interest in sustainable goods. Many participants utilized the event as a testing ground for new product lines before pursuing larger scale distribution.
Following the results, the DTI Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP will proceed with its schedule of regional and themed trade fairs throughout 2026.
