The International Finance Corp. (IFC) teamed up with CreditAccess Philippines Financing Company Inc. (OnePuhunan) to expand access to financing and support job creation in rural areas across the Philippines.
The partnership, under the IFC MSME Finance Platform, includes a three-year senior loan facility for OnePuhunan consisting of about $20 million funding and a mobilization of up to $40 million. These funds will be used exclusively to support women-owned or women-led microenterprises in rural communities.
“We are happy to be working with IFC for the first time, as we expand to reach at least 1 million Filipinos by 2030. With this partnership, we aim to continuously improve our product offerings and services to better serve our clients, so they can focus on growing their businesses and supporting their families,” OnePuhunan chief executive and president Daniele Rovere said.
The microfinance institution operates across 16 regions in the country and maintains an extensive network in rural areas. Moving forward, the company plans to further expand its operations while also accelerating digitalization initiatives.
“MSMEs play a major role in creating jobs and boosting prosperity especially in underserved communities. By partnering with OnePuhunan, IFC is expanding access to finance for women entrepreneurs in rural Philippines—helping them grow businesses, create jobs, and build resilience where it is needed most,” IFC country manager Amena Arief said.
