SHFC approves three new housing projects

The Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) said it approved applications for three new housing projects under its Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), bringing the total number of beneficiary families nationwide to more than 7,000.

The agency’s Credit Committee greenlighted the projects on March 9, 2026 at its Makati office. The move supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which is led by Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling.

SHFC president and chief executive Federico Laxa led the committee in approving the Sabang Puro Urban Kabisig Homeowners Association and Mabolo Homes Homeowners Association Inc. in Naga, Camarines Sur, alongside the Divine Mercy Homeowners Association Inc. in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. These specific developments are expected to house 470 families.

The latest approvals bring the SHFC portfolio to 41 ECMP projects across the country. The program is designed to provide security of tenure for both formal and informal income earners, including laborers, farmers, security guards, delivery riders and Overseas Filipino Workers.

“Our goal is clear: to provide affordable housing and security of tenure to our fellow Filipinos, especially those in the low-income bracket,” Laxa said.

“By bringing these projects to Naga and Puerto Princesa, we are one step closer to closing the housing gap for our hard working citizens,” he said.

As part of the ongoing rollout, the SHFC and DHSUD have begun awarding checks for land acquisition. This allows organized communities to secure legal ownership of the property where their homes are currently built. Beneficiaries are also receiving grants to cover the costs of processing documentary requirements.
