JuanHand, PNP agree to promote safe digital borrowing

Lending firm JuanHand and the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) signed an agreement Wednesday to promote responsible and safe borrowing among Filipinos.

Under the partnership, JuanHand and the PNP-ACG will spearhead initiatives such as information sharing, training programs and public workshops on the evolving nature of cyberthreats.

This aligns with the partnership’s goal to educate Filipinos on how to efficiently identify and report suspicious activities, which could help lessen their susceptibility to scams.

“Through education and collaboration, we aim to help consumers avoid scams and borrow safely from legitimate platforms,” JuanHand president and chief executive Francisco Roberto Mauricio said in a statement. “Responsible borrowing is a force for good that ultimately leads to financial empowerment.”

Mauricio added that JuanHand and the PNP-ACG will work closely to provide a safe and secure lending environment for Filipinos.
