The Department of Transportation said the EDSA Busway recorded higher ridership in 2025 as travel along the thoroughfare becomes smoother and more reliable.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed the DOTr to continue improvements along the corridor to ensure a safer and more convenient experience for commuters.
As a flagship project of the agency, the EDSA Busway served 66,669,287 passengers in 2025, an increase from the 63,022,953 passengers recorded in 2024.
Recent data shows a record monthly ridership of 6,530,415 passengers in December 2025, with a single-day peak of 321,186 recorded in April 2025.
Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the department will continue modernizing the busway.
“We still have many improvements to make, such as the more modern Kamuning Busway station and three new stations this year to ensure that travel is faster and more convenient,” Lopez said.
To date, the EDSA Busway has served a cumulative total of 341,307,843 passengers since it began in June 2020.
The project is a flagship initiative of the DOTr supported by the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. It aims to enhance mass transit efficiency and accessibility along Metro Manila’s main thoroughfare.
