Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) was recognized for achieving 100 percent plastic offsetting at the PCX Pulse Event, marking a new milestone in the company’s sustainability efforts.
The recognition followed MMPC’s partnership with Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) Markets, a plastic responsibility platform.
Through the partnership, the company offset all plastic it introduced into the market via verified recovery and recycling initiatives.
PCX founder and executive chair Nanette Medved-Po said the awardees demonstrated that corporate accountability can help address plastic pollution.
She noted that committing to the verified recovery of 100 percent of a company’s plastic footprint creates lasting benefits for both communities and the environment.
Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Raphael Lotilla commended the 16 companies recognized, saying they went beyond compliance by fully recovering their plastic footprint and setting an example of environmental stewardship.
MMPC vice president for safety, health and environment Marfel Ancheta said the recognition reflects the company’s responsibility for the plastic it produces.
He noted that plastic credits represent measurable actions that support recycling systems and environmental protection, adding that MMPC remains committed to driving sustainability alongside mobility.
