This Christmas season, the Aboitiz Foundation, through OneAboitiz, is bringing hope to families in Liloan, Cebu, one of the communities affected by Typhoon Tino, by providing home recovery assistance to 285 households whose homes were completely damaged. Each family received P30,000 to help start rebuilding, totaling P8.5 million in support for Liloan.
“The flash floods brought by Typhoon Tino caused fear, loss, and uncertainty for many families. Dili lalim ang inyong naagian. Through this support, we want every family to know that you are not alone,” said AboitizPower Distribution Utilities COO Anton Perdices.
The program offers practical aid, including vouchers for cement and construction materials and cash for labor, helping families rebuild safer homes.
The initiative in Liloan follows a similar effort in November, when 225 families in San Remigio, Cebu, received home recovery support after the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in September.
“Seeing families smile again—especially during the Christmas season—reminds us that this work is also about restoring hope, dignity, and confidence as communities move forward together,” Perdices said.
The effort was made possible through the collaboration of the Aboitiz Foundation, UnionBank, Republic Cement, Vic Enterprises, local government units, and volunteers, a showcase of the spirit of bayanihan, where businesses, government, and communities unite in times of need.
The Liloan support is part of the OneAboitiz disaster response, which has reached over 63,000 families nationwide with more than P28.8 million in relief and recovery assistance.
Led by the Aboitiz Foundation, these efforts cover earthquake recovery in Cebu and Davao, typhoon response in the Visayas, and flood and storm relief in Northern Luzon, demonstrating a commitment to helping communities from immediate relief to long-term recovery.
The Aboitiz Foundation hopes the home recovery assistance will bring renewed strength and optimism to families as they rebuild their homes and look forward to a safer, brighter future.
