The program aims to equip the community-based association with modern technology for mud crab fattening while promoting responsible aquaculture practices that protect marine biodiversity. Organizers intend for the initiative to serve as a model that can be replicated in other coastal communities across the region.

MGEN Thermal president and chief executive Felino Bernardo said the commitment of PEDC to sustainable development is reflected in the project, which empowers local communities and promotes environmental stewardship.

He said that as an MGEN company, they continue to drive economic impact and stay true to their mission of powering a better future.

TSKI provides experience in community empowerment for the implementation of the program. Meanwhile, DOST and the local government unit offer technical guidance to ensure the long-term sustainability of the operations.

The launch event included representatives from all partner organizations to highlight the collective effort toward regional development.

Under the project, MGEN and PEDC continue to demonstrate their commitment to programs that strengthen livelihoods and promote sustainable practices for the planet and the people.
