In a major move to advance financial inclusion, PalawanPay has officially unveiled its Virtual Visa Card, bringing secure and globally accepted digital payments to millions of Filipinos.
The new offering from the Palawan Group of Companies’ fast-growing e-wallet is specifically designed for those without traditional bank accounts or credit cards, ensuring that modern financial tools are accessible to everyone.
The launch represents a significant leap for the unbanked and underbanked sectors. By integrating Visa’s global network with PalawanPay’s user-friendly interface, the company is empowering its “sukis” to participate confidently in the digital economy.
“PalawanPay’s Virtual Visa Card is more than just a new feature; it is a vital step toward a more inclusive digital economy. Our goal is to make digital finance truly for all – practical, straightforward, and within reach of every Filipino,” said Palawan Group chief marketing officer.Bernard Kaibigan.
Built with “suki-centered” simplicity, the virtual card eliminates the complications often associated with digital finance. Users can now enjoy seamless transactions for online shopping on platforms like Shopee and Lazada, book travel, manage subscription services, and execute secure money transfers via Visa Direct.
Furthermore, the app allows users to receive international remittances directly, bridging the gap between overseas workers and their families.
Bridging the gap between digital and physical, PalawanPay offers free cash-ins through its 3,500+ Palawan Express branches. This synergy ensures that every Filipino can fund their virtual card with zero extra fees, regardless of their location.
Designed to align with the real spending behaviors of today’s “Digital Pinoy,” the Virtual Visa Card is the first step in a broader roadmap. To further enhance flexibility, PalawanPay confirmed that a physical Visa card will follow by 2026, enabling “sukis” to make point-of-sale and in-store payments at millions of merchants worldwide.
