Ayala Corp. is closing 2025 with a series of new international ventures and innovative financing deals aimed at supporting long-term economic growth in the Philippines.
The conglomerate said it expanded its retail footprint this year through a partnership with United Arab Emirates premium supermarket brand Spinneys to open stores in the Philippines.
This marks the first venture for Spinneys outside the Gulf region. Ayala also collaborated with Thailand’s CP AXTRA to explore co-investments in e-commerce and mall development, a move that includes the re-entry of wholesale giant Makro to the local market.
In the logistics sector, Danish fund manager A.P. Moller Capital acquired a 40-percent stake in AC Logistics. The partnership is designed to scale operations and address evolving supply chain requirements across the archipelago.
Singapore-based impact investor ABC Impact provided primary capital to AC Health to expand Ayala’s network of hospitals and clinics.
To fund these expansions, the company secured several landmark financing agreements. Early in the year, Ayala raised $100 million through a blended finance deal with the Asian Development Bank and the Canadian Climate and Nature Fund for the Private Sector in Asia.
These funds are earmarked for ACMobility to build out an electric vehicle charging station network.
The company also signed a $200-million yen-denominated loan in March with Mizuho Bank Ltd. and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. The deal represented Ayala’s first yen-denominated term loan and followed a strong credit rating from the Japan Credit Rating Agency Ltd.
Ayala Corp. president and chief executive Cezar Consing said the company entered into new ventures and historic firsts throughout the year.
Consing noted that the group enters the new year with a renewed commitment to create value by supporting the country’s growth.
The company received several international accolades in 2025, including being named the top Philippine company in the World’s Best Companies list by TIME and Statista. It also earned a spot on the Forbes Global 2000 list and received a Five Golden Arrow Award for corporate governance.
Community initiatives remained a focus through the year. Under the Forests for Life program, Ayala worked with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources with a commitment to help grow 5 million trees by 2028. The company also organized the Atletang Ayala World Pole Vault Challenge in September, featuring Olympic athlete EJ Obiena.
Other social programs included the Saludo sa Serbisyo initiative, which provides career and health support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.
The Ayala Foundation also mobilized volunteers for school repairs and disaster response following earthquakes and typhoons.
