Acciona.org first in Philippines to earn carbon literacy training accreditation

Acciona.org, the corporate foundation of the Spanish infrastructure and renewable energy company ACCIONA, has been certified to deliver carbon literacy training, becoming the first organization in the Philippines to accredit a course with The Carbon Literacy Project in the United Kingdom.

The accreditation allows acciona.org to train and certify its employees and partners, providing participants with an internationally recognized carbon literate certification.

The initiative aligns with the foundation’s mission to extend access to modern energy, drinking water, and sanitation services to rural communities in need across the Philippines.

The Carbon Literacy Project defines carbon literacy as “the ability to understand, communicate about, and act on climate change in our daily lives.”

Recognized by the United Nations, this global training model builds awareness, drives behavioral change and promotes collective action toward decarbonization.

“This accreditation opens a pathway to accelerate decarbonization through education-driven climate action. Through Carbon Literacy, we empower individuals and organizations to actively reduce their carbon emissions creating a more sustainable future for all,” said Jubail Pasia, manager of acciona.org in the Philippines.

Acciona.org, ACCIONA’s energy and water foundation, promotes universal access to clean energy, quality water and adequate sanitation.
