Alternergy wins first SEC Green Equity Label

Alternergy Holdings Corp. said Monday it became the first publicly-listed company on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) to receive the Green Equity Label certification from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The official distinction, contained under SEC Memorandum Circular No. 13, series of 2025 issued in September, is awarded to companies listed or preparing to list on the PSE if more than 50 percent of their revenues and over half of their capital and operating expenses are from or directed toward green activities.

Alternergy, a “pure-play renewable energy developer” focused exclusively on clean power generation, said the certification validates its strong commitment to sustainability.

“We are delighted to be the recipient of the Philippine Green Equity Label from the SEC as a publicly listed company,” Alternergy president Gerry Magbanua said in a statement.

“We commend the SEC for its recent issuance of Green Equity Label Guidelines that aims to usher more sustainability investors and grow the capital market for green initiatives, which ALTER could tap for our future equity financing needs,” he said.
