The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said it welcomes the high approval rating it received in the third quarter of 2025, validating its efforts to bring the benefits of science and technology and innovation to help improve the people’s daily life.
The DOST and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) secured the highest approval and trust ratings among government agencies based on the Pahayag 2025 Third Quarter Survey.
The DOST ranked second with an approval rating of 59 percent and a trust rating of 40 percent, closely trailing TESDA, which topped the survey with 63 percent approval and 45 percent trust. Publicus Asia Inc. conducted the survey from Sept. 27 to 30, 2025.
TESDA’s consistent delivery of technical and vocational programs that boost employability and livelihood opportunities was cited by respondents.
Meanwhile, the survey attributed DOST’s high marks to its sustained performance in disaster risk reduction and early warning systems through its attached agencies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), as well as its scholarship programs promoting science and technology education.
“These high rankings serve both as a reflection of the strong impact of our advocacy of Agham na Ramdam and an expression of the public’s confidence in DOST’s commitment to provide solutions and opportunities for all Filipinos,” said DOST Secretary Renato Solidum.
Solidum assured the public of the DOST’s “enduring dedication to leverage science, technology and innovation in improving the lives of every Filipino and in attaining inclusive and sustained progress for our country.”
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was the third most-approved institution, with an approval rating of 53 percent and trust at 43 percent. The survey used a purposive nationwide sample of 1,500 registered Filipino voters drawn from the PureSpectrum online panel.
