The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) is strengthening its support for the government’s healthcare initiatives with a donation of P141 million worth of patient transport vehicles (PTVs) to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) for nationwide distribution.
The partnership was formalized with the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City on Oct. 15, 2025.
The donation covers 70 fully equipped PTVs that the PCSO will distribute to qualified local government units (LGUs) to improve access to emergency medical transport and healthcare services, especially in far-flung and underserved areas.
Each PTV unit is equipped with a GPS navigation system, a stretcher, medical oxygen, a wheelchair, and a first aid kit, ensuring safe and efficient patient transfer during emergencies.
The P141 million donation reflects PAGCOR’s full support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s drive to strengthen the country’s health and emergency response system, said PAGCOR chairman and chief executive Alejandro Tengco during the signing ceremony.
“These vehicles are not mere means of transport – they are lifelines that can spell the difference between life and death for those who need immediate medical attention,” Tengco said.
“By combining PAGCOR’s resources with PCSO’s long-standing experience in health-related programs, we can reach more communities and save more lives,” he said.
The 70-unit donation forms part of PAGCOR’s commitment to provide a total of 246 PTVs to local government units, hospitals and frontline agencies across the Philippines.
PAGCOR has already distributed 60 PTV units on its own to various beneficiary institutions and agencies since February of this year.
Tengco also thanked PCSO general-manager Melquiades Robles and his team for the collaboration, expressing hopes the joint effort would bring care and benefits to more Filipinos.
