McDonald’s Philippines said Wednesday all of its crew, managers and customers are safe following the 6.9 magnitude earthquake Tuesday night.
“At McDonald’s, nothing is more important than the safety of our people. Following the 6.9 magnitude earthquake yesterday, our latest reports show that all our crew, managers and customers are safe,” the company said in a statement.
“As of Oct. 1, all our stores in Cebu have undergone all necessary safety checks. Only McDonald’s Bogo has sustained major damage and remains closed. Four other McDonald’s stores (JY Square, North Reclamation, Carcar, and Jones) are temporarily closed due to minor repairs needed and/or limited crew availability,” it said.
It said McDonald’s Il Corso store was not damaged and has resumed operations after safety checks, contrary to initial reports. It said that as of 1 p.m. Wednesday, McDonald’s JY Square, McDonald’s North Reclamation and McDonald’s Jones have resumed operations.
All other McDonald’s Stores in Cebu are open and continue to serve customers and communities, it said.
“We continue to coordinate closely with our employees to ensure their well-being and that of their families. Rest assured that we remain committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and crew as we continue to serve the community,” the company said
McDonald’s said that in coordination with local government units in Cebu, it is serving hot meals to reach frontliners and communities affected by the earthquake.
