Treasury awards P28.4b in T-bills

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) on Monday awarded P28.4 billion worth of Treasury bills (T-bills), with average rates coming in lower than those in the secondary market.

The auction was oversubscribed by 3.5 times, attracting P87.280 billion in total tenders, exceeding the initial offer of P25 billion.

The BTr’s auction committee fully awarded P7 billion worth of 91-day T-bills, which yielded an average of 5.318 percent.

Meanwhile, P11.9 billion was awarded for the 182-day T-bills, with an average yield of 5.535 percent. The 364-day T-bills amounted to P9.5 billion, with the average rate settling at 5.637 percent.

Total tenders for this week’s auction reached P32.505 billion for the 91-day T-bills, P29.030 billion for the 182-day T-bills and P25.745 billion for the 364-day T-bills, respectively.
