March inflation climbed to 3.7%

Inflation rate in March 2024 climbed to 3.7 percent on the back of higher food prices, the Philippine Statistics Authority said Friday.

This was faster than 3.4 percent registered in February and brought the average in the first quarter to 3.3 percent, still within the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ target range of 2 percent to 4 percent.

The March inflation was also within the BSP’s forecast range of 3.4 to 4.2 percent for the month.
