Margie Didal embraces the limelight as new H&M ambassador

The world of skateboarding has always been connected to the world of fashion. Looking back, the philosophy and aesthetic that skateboarders are known for have been experimented with since its origins.

This look has since been replicated by multiple brands and fashion houses which eventually gave way to the punk street aesthetic that is still used as a style reference today.

Fast forward to 2021, and fashion’s obsession with the skateboarding culture is still as strong as ever; enter Margielyn Didal.

We all know her for her achievements in the world of skateboarding – 2018 Asian Games gold medalist, 2020 Tokyo Olympics Finalist and the list goes on.

A quick glance at her Instagram page would show her love for the oversized and relaxed street silhouette – a trend that has dominated since the 2010s. Her sense of style is one that defies societal norms.

With a solid belief that fashion must be inclusive and should reach all gender identities and expressions, Margielyn has inspired H&M to create an exclusive collection that brings this message across.

Called the Skate Drop Selected by Margielyn Didal, it the first time for the brand to work with a woman to pick out exclusive looks for menswear.

The Skate Drop is not only an inclusive campaign but a proud Filipino one. It was shot right at the very home of Margielyn, together with Skate Pilipinas, in the Queen City of the South, Cebu.

The exclusive collection is launched today in stores, ZALORA, and HM.COM.
