The Baguio City Veterinary and Agriculture Office, in coordination with the Cordillera office of the Agriculture Department, will be conducting the required Coggins test for the horses at Wright Park to ascertain how many have contracted Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA). Coggins test is a blood test identifying if a horse is a carrier of EIA, otherwise known as swamp fever. City Veterinarian Dr. Brigit Piok said that to date, some 20 horses have been quarantined after testing positive for EIA.
