Who has the time to bake pan de sal or chocolate chip cookies when you can easily get them at a store, right?
Apparently many of us had.
More time in hand plus days spent cooped up at home equals a boom in baking, as seen in the increased sales of baking goods flying off the shelves faster than the supermarket could replenish them during the first few months of lockdown.
While many embraced their inner bakers, so much so as investing in baking equipment and tools, those who are still dipping their toes into the scene can try their hand at a co-baking space on the second floor of SM Aura Premier.
Hong Kong’s first and only co-baking studio Bakebe recently opened in the Philippines. Its founder, Cantonese food blogger and social media personality Venus Chi developed a user-friendly app with step-by-step guide that allows guests to bake at their own pace using all the necessary tools and ingredients provided by the store.
According to Bakebe, even first-time bakers get a 95-percent success rate following the intuitive guide complete with detailed instructions, graphics, and videos.
Bakebe PH at SM Aura in Taguig is a millennial pink wonderland complete with ovens, mixers, and all baking tools necessary to create “Instagrammable” unicorn cakes, macaroons, piñata cakes, cake pops, and other themed cakes whose recipes are from global pastry chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants.
The co-baking space offers a variety of packages for those who want to celebrate by baking cakes. The Bridal Shower, Birthday Party, Gender Reveal, School Tours, Team Building, and Photo shoot packages all include a choice of cake to bake, exclusive use of venue, party favors, party host, games and prizes, and set meals.
A party for few people are also hosted at Bakebe PH. There’s Bake with your Squad for a fun bonding with family and friends, Bake with your Bestie for a productive day of learning, or Bake with your Bae on your special day.
Bakebe PH also has an interesting way to help broken hearts move on—Break Up and Bake Up.
