Mynt, the parent company of digital wallet GCash, reported robust growth IN the first quarter of 2026 as it expanded its role in the Philippine digital financial system.
The companys said that for the quarter ending in March, income attributable to major shareholder Globe Telecom surged to P1.9 billion. This represents a 120-percent increase over the previous quarter.
The company said it has deepened its integration into the daily lives of Filipinos and maintains its position as the top InstaPay destination by transaction volume according to the Philippine Payments Management Inc.
Through government partnerships, GCash has changed transport payments in Metro Manila via QR and NFC technologies. Its “Tap to Pay” feature now allows secure transactions at over 150 million merchants globally.
“Our latest results are a clear signal that GCash is no longer just a digital wallet, but a primary engine of the Philippines’ digital economy. The quarterly growth reflects our success in scaling high-impact services like lending and wealth management while staying true to our mission of financial inclusion,” Mynt president and chief executive Martha Sazon said.
Significant portions of the growth stem from lower socio-economic segments, which make up 90 percent of the user base. Nearly 80 percent of users reside outside Metro Manila.
Amid global uncertainties, GCash served as a lifeline by waiving transaction fees for remittances from the Middle East and facilitating the delivery of government fuel subsidies.
Its lending arm, Fuse Financing, Inc., expanded access to credit with life-to-date disbursements reaching P406 billion, a 60 percent year-on-year increase. By utilizing its proprietary GScore system, Fuse provided fair credit to over 11.1 million unique borrowers previously underserved by traditional banks.
The company is also democratizing investments and protection. GStocks PH reached 1.9 million registered investors while GCrypto grew to 5 million users. GInsure saw a 274 percent year-on-year jump, selling over 192.4 million policies life-to-date.
As the largest digital ecosystem in the nation, GCash said it remains focused on international expansion and scaling its B2B offerings. It currently supports remittances to 16 countries and provides small businesses with improved operational tools.
“Across our various businesses, we strive to help build an inclusive digital economy, aimed at Making Filipinos’ Everyday Lives Better and accelerating financial inclusion,” Sazon said.
