SANTA ROSA CITY — Macabling Elementary School in the City of Santa Rosa launched its newest school clinic last January 6, 2023, through a ceremonial blessing and ribbon cutting.
The event was graced by City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas with DepEd Santa Rosa Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Manuela S. Tolentino.
Macabling ES, led by its principal Dr. Ammie Dy Pico, is one of the public schools in the city that proposed a school clinic for the benefit of their students. This effort was supported by Mayor Arlene, and the City Government of Santa Rosa helped establish it.
In her speech, Mayor Arlene thanked the school and DepEd Santa Rosa for their hard work and dedication in raising the quality of service of the City’s education sector through projects such as this.
“I personally would like to thank you for actively and continuously doing things to elevate the quality of education we are providing the youth of Santa Rosa. Aside from that, I am grateful that little by little, we were also able to take part and contribute to the improvement of the school’s facilities, which are also of great importance when it comes to learning,” she shared.
Mayor Arlene reiterated that like other school facilities, “a school clinic is indeed beneficial for students especially when emergencies arise.”
“As much as we want our students to learn, we also want them to be well and healthy. Health and education should always coincide because the students can only reach their full potential in learning when their minds and their bodies are healthy,” she said.
Mayor Arlene also expressed how she aims to develop the sector of education, hence the city’s continued support for projects like this.
She assured everyone that she will keep on pushing her mission to provide adequate and appropriate school facilities that can contribute to students’ learning. Roy Tomandao
