Hosting a Christmas dinner or holiday get-together?
Ayala Malls presents Stylescapes, a showcase of different themed vignettes of luxurious holiday home celebrations, to offer and inspire ideas on how mall-goers can dress up their homes for a season of gatherings and holiday festivities.
It is co-presented by real estate developer Avida Land.
An integral part of the Christmas campaign “Awaken the Season,” it gathers and curates the various items from Ayala Malls’ home and specialty stores in eye-catching sets styled by celebrities and renowned interior designers.
The vignettes are displayed at Glorietta, TriNoma, and Ayala Center Cebu today until January 2020.
Modernity and tradition
Over at Glorietta, Sofia Zobel-Elizalde and award-winning events stylist Zenas Pineda present a feast for the senses with their Filipino-themed “Halo-Halo Noche Buena.”
Taking cues from the yummy and vibrant colors of the world-famous Pinoy dessert, this Stylescape is inspired by “Halu Halong Pasko,” a recent piece that Zobel-Elizalde created for Ayala Malls. “Dance has been a part of my life,” she says. “The music features classic Philippine songs rearranged by brilliant songwriter, composer, and Pinoy artist Joey Ayala.”
With the source material presenting an audiovisual delight, Zenas has created a vignette that integrates bright holiday hues with textures and details such as T’nalak cloth and local weaves, capturing the feel of a modern Filipino Christmas.
Festive fantasies for the young at heart
Jump down the rabbit hole of a fantastical holiday with the “Alice in Wonderland” Stylescape at TriNoma, styled by Dr. Aivee Teo and events stylist Gideon Hermosa.
The vignette brings to life the classic Lewis Carroll novel with quirky elements, fun and hip details, and just the right touch of madness to make holiday gatherings—from tea parties to Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners—feel like the most wonderful dreams.
“We would like to transport people’s imagination to a magical, mysterious yet festive ambience, as they will be bedazzled with colorful, fascinating, and enchanting design elements that will truly create a fun and memorable experience,” shares Teo.
An homage to heritage
Down south at Ayala Center Cebu, Teresin Mendezona and Eva Gullas present “Colonial Cebu.” Inspired by the Queen City’s rich history and culture, this Stylescape highlights Cebuano arts and crafts, with capiz and burdado details as some of the prominent elements that celebrate heritage and traditions.
“The old families of Cebu celebrate Noche Buena as an opportunity to use the best cutlery and china,” explains Gullas. “The entire household, from the help to the lady of the house, prepare the midnight feast, and the kitchen fire is kept burning from the early hours until just after midnight mass, when the holiday meal is finally enjoyed.”
Cross-cultural exchanges
Usher in 2020 with Alabang Town Center’s Stylescape, which will be on exhibit from Jan. 6 to 31, 2020. Curated and styled by actor Derek Ramsay and Zenas Pineda, it will showcase a décor with “British Party” theme as recognition to Ramsay’s English lineage.
“The idea is ‘East meets West,’” describes Ramsay, referring to his half-English, half-Filipino cultural background. “My inspiration is my family.”
A taste of things to come
It’ll be all about “Trends for 2020” at the Greenbelt Stylescape, where Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Cyndi Fernandez of Moss Manila will present modern and luxe interior design ideas shaping the new year.
“The main inspiration is really Tessa’s personality—Eclectic and Glamorous,” explains Fernandez. It will be on exhibit from Jan. 6 to 23, 2020.”
