Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin on Wednesday said the Supreme Court remains committed to putting up a hall of justice for the City of Manila, a “jinxed” project which has haunted past administrations of both the executive and judiciary department.
“We are in earnest in constructing a hall of justice worthy of a former queen city,” Bersamin said in a press briefing, noting Manila was originally the first to have its own hall of justice to be put up but delays have since allowed it to be overtaken by halls of justice in other cities.

Bersamin said that “there is already a budget for the project” and the “design will preserve the facade” of the old Government Service Insurance System building in Arroceros.
