The Malabon city government has assured its constituents of continuing jobs and livelihood amid the ongoing General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with alert levels, said Councilor Jose Lorenzo Oreta “Enzo” Oreta.

Oreta said women-owners of medium and small medium enterprises (MSME) were provided with skills training and livelihood assistance to cope up with the challenges triggered by the coronavirus pandemic and help augment their family income.

With the GILAS Training, Oreta said more than 200 women coming from the first batch and another 200 women before the year end, will benefit from the additional knowledge and livelihood aid amounting to P5000 for each woman.

“Women- entrepreneurs have been contributing immensely to our city’s development so that during this time of the pandemic, we are supporting them to cope up with the difficulties they are facing,” stressed Oreta, Chairperson of the Committees on Labor, Trade, and Industry and Women, Family, and PWD.

The online training for these women, Oreta said, are being implemented with the help of Gender and Development (GAD) Center of Malabon and CDO (for the food industry), PLDT and Smart (for internet access), and BanKo (for access to affordable additional funding).
