Filipino comic artists, illustrators, and cosplayers gathered at the DrawINK Convention 2025 to celebrate kawaii culture and diverse artistic expression, organizers said.
The three-day event, hosted by De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s (DLS-CSB) premier comic organization DrawINK, spotlighted local talent under the theme Komi’s Confectionery, inspired by Japanese cuteness and bakery sweets.
“Komi’s Confectionery encourages artists to embrace individualism,” organizers said, describing the theme as a celebration of identity and self-expression.

The convention featured panel discussions with Filipina creators, including illustrator Patricia Ramos, who shared insights on navigating the comic industry, and artist Dione Kong, who discussed building a career in art. Animator Nyoomian previewed their award-winning webtoon The Interpretation of Shadows and emphasized the importance of digital platforms for comic artists.
A cosplay competition highlighted the event, with Johan Digal winning top honors for her portrayal of Genshin Impact’s Navia. Rischa Rodriguez and Sarah Reyes placed as runners-up for their renditions of characters from Black Butler and Tangled, respectively. Judges included cosplayers Strawbeey Mage, Lia Bear, ApoG, and host Rebyczko.
An Artist Alley showcased works by emerging Benildean illustrators, while Nyoomian debuted merchandise for their webtoon.
