Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC) is offering a business-focused information technology (IT) degree designed for working students seeking career growth in the evolving job market.

MMDC’s curriculum integrates IT and business, preparing students for in-demand roles such as data analysts, digital marketers, and social media specialists. Noel Torregoza, MMDC’s instructional system design director, said a business-focused IT education helps students advance their careers.

A 2025 World Economic Forum report highlights artificial intelligence and big data as key growth areas. Recruitment expert Anna Atienza said IT skills are sought after not only in tech firms but also in banking, e-commerce, and telecommunications. She noted that employers value candidates who can analyze data and apply insights to business decisions.

Claire Carrillo, a digital marketer and former working student, credited her IT education with providing technical and analytical skills crucial in digital marketing.

“Familiarity with digital tools allows for efficient content creation and performance tracking,” she said, adding that adaptability is essential in an industry with constantly evolving trends.

MMDC’s online programs offer flexible schedules with morning, afternoon, and evening classes. Students also receive mentorship from industry professionals and access financial assistance programs.

The school provides two IT tracks: a business-focused program with specializations in data analytics, marketing technology, and entrepreneurship technology, and a development-focused program specializing in software development and cybersecurity.

“Our curriculum empowers working students to balance studies and career advancement,” Torregoza said.
