Blue Power trucks

After the glitzy 20th Anniversary celebration and the launch of its Blue Power technology line-up, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently staged a two-day test drive event to highlight and experience the innovation of its fleet of Blue Power equipped trucks. 

With its President Hajime Koso leading the two-day test drive event, members of the media and dealer principals put the N-Series, F-Series and their workhorses C&E Series trucks through its paces at the Honda Driving facility in Paranaque City. “As mentioned, recently our company introduced its most advanced truck lineup ever introduced in the Philippine market, carrying Euro IV to Euro-V compliant engines, which we call ‘Blue Power’ engines,” Koso said in his welcome remarks. Also present at the event were Isuzu Global CV Engineering Center Limited Chief Engineer Yuichi Ishida, and Manager Tetsuya Fujimoto.Koso said that the company developed Blue Power Technology as part of their global commitment for cleaner environment.

“With its new design and technology, our ‘Blue Power’ engines promise to give better engine performance, higher fuel efficiency and lower carbon emission which will lessen the harmful effects on the environment,” he shared.

Isuzu executives flank the latest NLR refrigerated trucks with Blue Power technology

During the two-day activity, Isuzu lined-up the new NLR 77 with Aluminum Van, FVM34 with Fruehauf Wing Van and EXZ52 Tractor Head as the test vehicle, while the new NLR85 Refrigerated Van and NQR75 Dropside were displayed for customer inspection.

“Our new lineup of trucks also had a major make-over with a new and improved Hexa-pod cab design that is solid, clean, and emotional. This new aerodynamic design is roomier and allows easier entry and exit for the driver and passenger. Power windows and door locks are standard features,” Koso said.

After the test drive and the truck inspection, IPC officials explained the MIMAMORI system, a vehicle fleet management system that analyzes and examines various vehicle operations data such as fuel consumption in aid for logistics, especially to companies that handles fleet accounts.

The system developed by Isuzu was programmed to provide driving and fuel-efficiency tips to fleet managers and drivers based on actual driving conditions.

Aside from fuel saving, companies who availed the MIMAMORI can take advantage of safer drive, such as measuring sudden braking and acceleration, thereby reducing repair cost.  

Further, the IPC chief executive expressed his confidence that their latest engine offerings for trucks will be the main catalyst in contributing for commercial vehicle sales.

“I am so happy that fleet customers and the motoring media were able to test and drive the capability of our ‘Blue Power’ technology trucks. Today, they will not only learn the advantages of these trucks, but also help them address how this could help them in their daily operations in the business,” he explained.
