In a show of solidarity with communities affected by the recent devastation of Typhoon Carina, BYD Asia Pacific and BYD Cars Philippines have announced a charitable initiative to provide aid and assistance. The companies have committed to donating $100 for every BYD Sealion 6 DM-i vehicle sold from July 25 through the end of 2024.
“On behalf of BYD, we extend our deepest sympathies to all those impacted by this tragic event,” said Mr. Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, during the introduction of the new Sealion 6 compact SUV. “We stand with the Filipino people during this difficult time, and hope that this contribution can help alleviate some of the suffering.”
ACMobility, the official BYD distributor in the Philippines, has also mobilized its own disaster response efforts. Last Friday, the company distributed relief supplies to over 100 affected families in Barangay Dela Paz, Pasig City. BYD vehicles were utilized to transport the care packages assembled by ACMobility, BYD Cars Philippines, and their affiliated partners.
Notably, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology provided an additional power source, allowing volunteers and representatives to charge their devices on-site.
“Our hearts go out to the families who have endured the devastation of Typhoon Carina,” stated Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “Guided by our principle of ‘malasakit,’ or compassion, we remain committed to supporting our communities during these challenging times.”
