The Iloilo provincial government has released funds to 43 local government units (LGUs) across the province to bolster their drive against the current dengue outbreak.
Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the League of Municipalities (LMP) of the Philippines, Iloilo chapter, to formalize the cash transfer.
The money will be used to purchase additional equipment and supplies necessary for dengue prevention and control.
According to LMP-Iloilo executive vice president and Badiangan Mayor Suzette Mamon, the distribution of cash assistance depends on the classification of each municipality.
Bigger municipalities will receive P300,000, while middle-class will get P200,000, and smaller ones, P100,000.
“The amount will be processed and released directly to the LGUs, enabling them to immediately use the funds for urgent interventions against dengue cases in their areas,” said Mamon.
