Globe has given free data to its broadband customers in the provinces of Albay, Catanduanes, and Camarines Sur which were among the hardest hit by Typhoon Rolly.  Globe is the only telecommunications company to do so.

Globe At Home Postpaid users received free 20GB of data for 15 days seeded to their Globe mobile subscriptions while their monthly bill will be reversed corresponding to the days when they experienced no connection. Globe Home Prepaid WiFi customers, on the other hand, were provided with free 5GB of data for 3 days.

The company noted the importance of communications during such trying times.   Aside from access to reliable voice communications, people also need data to gather more information about what is happening around them and to get in touch with their friends and loved ones through social media platforms.

At the same time, Globe gave free unlimited calls and texts to Globe/TM for three days to all its prepaid customers in the three areas.  They also received IDD credits.

Globe’s Jeepney WiFi which provides Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi, were also deployed to different sites to provide free communications services to anyone, regardless of their telecom service provider.
