The National Telecommunications Commission on Friday ordered all public telecommunications entities to be ready for the coming Super Typhoon Rolly in order to ensure their continued operations and services to the public.

In a memo signed by Commissioner Gamaliel A. Cordoba, the NTC directed telcom organizations and companies “to ensure that there are sufficient number of technical and support personnel and standby generators with extra fuel, tools and spare equipment in the areas forecast to be affected by the incoming “Typhoon Rolly”.

As reported today by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the center of the eye of the supertyphoon is likely to make landfall over the Aurora-Quezon area on Sunday evening (November 1, 2020) or Monday (2 November 2, 2020) early morning.

“In line with this, you are also directed to preposition mobile cellsites in the affected regions and these should be made ready for deployment anytime. You are reminded of your responsibility to submit reports to the Commission of the status of your respective network and facilities,” the NTC stressed.
