In a highly industrialized and technologically advanced world such as ours, plastic products have become a way of life. Regardless of how they are deemed harmful to the environment, there is no denying that plastics are here to stay. Their benefits still far outnumber its supposed harmful effects, especially when used properly.

At present, global plastics production is experiencing rising demand among sectors such as automobiles and consumer electronics, medical treatment, packaging, and construction. The increase thus pushes the need for more plastic and rubber machinery in production facilities.

This is a scenario that the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) is taking advantage of. Taiwan’s plastics and rubber machinery is currently among the global leaders in related industries in the world, where it is ranked sixth globally. For the past over 50 years, the industry has been establishing a complete industrial cluster. Aside from this, the Taiwan plastics and rubber machinery is world-renowned for top-quality technology and impeccable after-sales service.

Furthermore, more than 400 plastic and rubber machinery manufacturers in Taiwan are known for its strong ICT capabilities, use of “The Industrial Internet of Things” (IIoT), intelligent automation, intelligent sensors, and advanced manufacturing technologies to build “smart, high-end, custom-made” production solutions, making it an indispensable part of the plastic and rubber global supply chain.

In order to help international plastic and rubber manufacturers face the future growth in plastic production demand, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) Taiwan, R.O.C, and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) organized the “Taiwan Excellence Plastic & Rubber Machinery Online Press Conference 2020”. The event attracted over 532 viewers online from countries including Egypt Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam among others.
