Importance of Omnichannel facilities stressed

The first Omnichannel Asia Summit Philippines 2019 bearing the theme “Connecting the Customer Journey” was held Friday at the SMX Convention Center Aura, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City, where retail and innovation industry experts shared their knowledge to businesses and professionals.

“Retail is not complicated, but old strategies are failing to address customer problems due to the changing demands of the market. By taking advantage of omnichannel facilities, businesses can provide an even better experience to their customers,” said GenieTech Philippines Chief Operating Officer Mahesh Gopinath.

Mahesh said omnichannel solutions connect multi-channel listing, POS, inventory management, and solutions with the purpose of consolidating customer data from all points of the buying process to provide a seamless customer experience.

With more consumers purchasing online using omnichannel facilities with the aid of mobile devices and various digital tools that shape the development of brand-to-customer experience, one of the leading solutions provider Genietech said that businesses are too slow to adapt to the fluxing digital world, while consumer expectations heighten and e-commerce sales steadily rise.

“Retailers are competing to provide the best customer experience. Omnichannel solutions are the way to provide customers with a seamless online and offline experience,” he added.

Based on a 2018 Nielsen study, the global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) e-commerce platform will account for almost 20 percent of the market share of over US$400 billion.

Among the resource persons from technology and retail industries, who shared their knowledge and expertise in logistics, supply chain, customer service, data-driven insights and social media include Grab Philippines Country Head Brian Cu, Facebook Philippines Head of Client Solutions Ash Mandhyan, Shopee Associate Director Martin Yu, and Lazada’s COO Carlos Barrera.
