Fashion is 4% of the Global GDP, yet it is a disaggregated industry with a lot of middlemen in the supply chain, according to technology platform Zilingo.

That’s why the company aims to digitize the Philippines’ MSMEs to level up the fashion supply industry and cut out the many middlemen in an era of tight margins and fast-moving fashion.

“Zilingo is reimagining the entire supply chain and aggregating all parties within the same platform by offering services and software that can help businesses do better,” said Shiela Mauricio, Head of Commercial, Zilingo Philippines in an intimate media luncheon recently in BGC.

“This has been the brand’s focus since Day 1,” she added, reiterating Zilingo’s commitment to aide merchant partners in scaling up their businesses efficiently.

Zilingo, which has touchpoints in 11 countries across Asia, the US, and Australia, started in 2015, focusing on integrating the global fashion supply chain using technology.

As a one-stop business solution provider, Zilingo makes the necessary tools and services for product development, procurement, trend casting, working capital, marketing, and software implementation easily accessible. With the help of upgrades in raw material sourcing, HR and productivity software, and financial and marketing services, MSMEs can improve their product quality, turnover and secure better pricing models, allowing them to remain competitive in the global market.

“Zilingo first built its B2C platform to help merchants distribute better. Today, Zilingo added more services to its platform that will help address the problems faced by the MSME industry here in the Philippines and abroad,” said Ryza Dipatuan-Razo, Marketing Director, Zilingo Philippines.

Using its B2B (Business to Business) solutions, the company plans to empower, innovate, and diversify the Philippines’ MSME industry by providing greater access to suppliers and manufacturers to produce materials at competitive pricing.

As the fashion industry continues to be plagued by outdated technology, inefficient supply chains, inappropriate labor practices and harmful waste generation, Zilingo emphasizes on alleviating these pain points and enabling users to access financial services, product design and sourcing solutions within a single platform.

In short, Zilingo provides an end-to-end cloud platform for the entire supply chain, from the yarn manufacturers to the brands, cutting out intermediaries in the process.

Founded by Ankiti Bose and Dhruv Kapoor with a vision to use technology to put responsible and efficient business within everyone’s reach, Zilingo believes the future of fashion belongs to everyone.

According to the company, the fashion industry is dominated by a select few,  favoring only those with social, human, and financial capital.

“By using smart, technology-led solutions to bridge the gap between creators and producers, we’ve reimagined the fashion supply chain to make it fair, connected, and transparent for all,” the company said.
