Kia gives global premiere of its first-ever pickup truck

Kia Corporation gave people more than a taste of the new Tasman at the Jeddah International Motor Show. Being the brand’s first-ever pickup, the Tasman is set to redefine the sector with its authentic blend of functionality, style, and advanced features that cater to both work and leisure.

The Kia Tasman features a distinctive exterior and a thoughtfully designed interior tailored to meet the diverse needs of contemporary drivers. Practical elements included corner steps for easy access, a load bed equipped with an illuminated power outlet, and a sliding cargo floor. The Tasman also boasted a cargo capacity of 1,173 liters, positioning it as a versatile option for various tasks.

It is also equipped with advanced chassis and suspension technology, which contributes to its off-road capabilities while maintaining on-road comfort. Its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features trailer profile functionality, designed to enhance safety for drivers who tows regularly.

The Tasman has undergone 1,777 specific tests over more than 18,000 rounds of evaluations, addressing aspects such as off-road performance and towing capacity. These extensive assessments aimed  to ensure that the vehicle met high global standards for durability and reliability.

The world premiere of the Kia Tasman showcased models such as the Baseline Double Cab, X-Line Double Cab, and X-Pro Double Cab. The global launch is planned for 2025, starting with the Korean domestic market in the first half of the year. Following this, Kia intends to introduce the Tasman to markets in Australia, Africa, and the Middle East, with particular focus on Saudi Arabia as a key market for this pickup.
