Fifteen employees were accorded loyalty awards for having served Manila Standard for at least a decade as the newspaper marked its 33rd anniversary last month.
“You are the foundation of this media outfit. Without you, without all these years in service, we would not be here,” Manila Standard President and Publisher Rollie Estabillo said during an intimate luncheon Thursday held at the El Calle Food Hall in Resorts World Manila.


“There are challenges we’ve gone through and are going through, but there are still things to look forward to. I congratulate all awardees and I hope you stay with us and I look forward to working with you in the years to come,” he added.
The awardees were led by Manila Standard chief accountant Mario Policarpio Jr., who celebrated his 30th year with the paper.



Other awardees include Edgar Valmorida, circulation manager (25 years); Heracleo Dazo, printing press staff (25 years); Feliciano Buscas Jr., officer-in-charge for digital (25 years); Carlito Villaver, circulation staff (25 years); Priscilla Cadungog, printing press staff (25 years); Roberto Ele, printing press staff (25 years); Randy Lumacang, printing press superintendent (20 years); Riera Mallari, Sports and Tech Editor (20 years); Ferdinand Cubinar, sales coordinator (15 years); Sheila Marie Suarez, advertising deskwoman (15 years); Roderick dela Cruz, Assistant Business Editor (15 years); Chin Wah Wong, Associate Editor (15 years); Alfie Payumo, assistant cashier (10 years) and Regis Desales II, circulation staff (10 years).
