As life slowly goes back to “normal”, shades of the pre-pandemic life are inching into view. This presents a glimpse of hope that we all welcome. A couple such visages of the “old life” are art shows and a thriving Manila nightlife. SM Aura Premier, a popular high-end mall in BGC, is bringing the two back from the “old world” and into the “new normal”. In collaboration with Vinyl on Vinyl art gallery and a select group of pubs and restaurants from the Poblacion area, SM Aura Premier is opening a pop-up art, food, and drink festival at the mall’s Skypark. They are calling this the Vinyl on Vinyl x Re:Poblacion Market Day.
Brought together for the first time by SM Aura Premier, Vinyl on Vinyl art gallery and the group from Poblacion (via RestoPH) is practically filling the entirety of the mall’s Skypark with a visual and gastronomic feast. Vinyl on Vinyl art gallery will be bringing in art pieces and merchandise from 1372Designs, Aizel, Cartellino, Cotton Candy Creature, Hyperbollic Time Chamber, The Analog Cartel and almost a dozen more from their roster of artists. On restaurants and pubs from the Poblacion area, participating in the pop-up are El Chupacabra, Agimat, Cantina, A Toda Madre, Café Fleur, Easy as Pie, Piece of Cake, Kali Burger, Moloko and Kite Kebab Bar.
Happening from November 19 to 21, November 27 to 28, and December 4 to 5 at SM Aura Premier’s rooftop outdoor area, guests can enjoy food and drinks from their well-missed gastropubs from Poblacion, purchase from and support local artists, and join art workshops – with paint graciously donated by Boysen Paints Philippines.
Revisiting and discovering passions in safety
All around the metro, more and more establishments are opening up, though not in full swing as of yet. A focus on safety from the COVID-19 virus is still very much on everyone’s mind and we all search for safe and alternative ways to live a “normal” life. Outdoor activities and hang-out spots have seen a huge rise in popularity, being generally more COVID-safe than indoor and enclosed counterparts. Vinyl on Vinyl x Re: Poblacion Market Day certainly fits the bill for being open-air, proper social distancing capable, and giving the public an opportunity to re-energize and find new interests in art, food, socialization and culture.
